He was a Gentle Giant. One memory is when Sherwin invited me to come out and learn Ham radio, and trying to come up with my handle name and all the names I thought of was already taken even the Initials of my own name and he instructed my to use the first name in my dream. - LaDonna McTaggart
Grew up in Mile and Quarter Seventh-day Adventist Church with Sherwin as my senior. The quartets he shared with Clinton, Joseph and James Headley, also Darwin Yearwood. Attended his wedding, later he relocated to Toronto. On my several visits, he would pick me up for church or I would meet him and the family at church, then enjoyed many Sabbath lunches. Rest In Peace. Another one from Millionaire's Road is gone. God’s blessings and continued prayers and comfort to his family. - Ryvan Campbell
He had a great sense of humor, always saying something to make me laugh. I was welcomed in his home. I know he will be missed. - Debbie John
I met Sherwin at Shiloh church. His demeanour was pleasant always, a smile with a joke to share. - Joyce Boyce
Three Words: "Smart, Comical, Adviser" - Sherwin Ishmael
UNCLE Sherwin…the handle gives it away! No 'in-law' required as it never even mattered that he married my Aunt. I will forever remember his relaxed and laid back posture as he sat and relayed his humorous stories; he always had a 'true' story for every occasion that had a lesson in there, somewhere.😁 Three words to describe him: Patient, Calm (maybe unbothered) and Wise. - Wendy Pilgrim
I met Sherwin at Toronto School of Business. He was very kind, helpful and he always has stories to tell you. - Latha Mitchell
I’m the great nephew of Uncle Sherwin. A favorite memory that I have of my uncle would be when I was living in Tennessee and graduated trade school. I had been working at a electrical company for a couple of months and I got a side job and for me that was a big deal. But me being me I didn’t let the electrical difficulty stop me it just only enhanced my passion for the trade. I remember getting merged into a call with my dad and Uncle Sherwin, telling them about my side job and what I had to do to get it up and running. Long story short uncle Sherwin was in shock that I knew all of this and was doing the actual physical labor. Boy let me tell you the labor was no joke. Especially in the dead of winter. But he saw my commitment, hustle, drive, passion and the blood that runs through us enjoying/engaging in the same trade. The joy in his laugh and questions he had from my answers led me to believe that he was impressed, proud and confident in the work I was doing. Ended up completing the job and still to this day no faults or issues. He always had a story for everything and I loved that. I know this memory would live rent free in his head. Little Douglas growing up before his eyes. Here are three words to describe my uncle: Entertaining, Knowledgeable, Supportive. - Douglas Johnson
Today, I honor the life of my great-uncle, Sherwin Johnson. He was in fact a very GREAT uncle. My name is Reunette Johnson.
When I think of Uncle Sherwin, I don't first think of sadness—I think of laughter. He always had a story to tell. No matter what the conversation was about, he could make you smile. He had such a joyful spirit. I can still hear his laugh, and I can still picture that warm smile that made everyone around him feel at ease.
One of my sweetest memories is hearing my Auntie Marceline call out in her high-pitched voice, "Sherwin, come and eat!" reminding him to come before the food got cold because he would tell you story after story for hours. It's one of those simple moments that has stayed with me all these years.
Uncle Sherwin lived in Toronto, Canada, and he was my dad, Reuel's, favorite uncle. I remember hearing them talk on the phone for hours. Their conversations were always filled with stories, laughter, and a bond that distance could never break.
One memory has stayed with me more than any other.
I couldn't have been more than eight years old when Uncle Sherwin told me he had heart problems after surviving a massive heart attack. Trying to explain it in a way I could understand, he told me he had a "truck" in his heart and that he needed a battery to help it work. In my young mind, I believed every word. I was so concerned for him and wished there was something I could do to help.
Looking back now, I realize he was talking about a pacemaker.
I truly believe that conversation was one of the earliest moments that planted the seed for my desire to help people medically. Today, by God's grace, I am a registered nurse, and I have the privilege of caring for people every day. It's amazing how God can use even a childhood conversation to shape the direction of a person's life.
One of the things that saddens me most is that Uncle Sherwin never had the opportunity to meet my precious son, Zechariah, in person—his great-great-nephew. Even though they never met face to face, he loved Zechariah. He celebrated his life, supported him, and even sent gifts for my baby shower. That kind of love meant so much to me.
I wish he could have held Zechariah, laughed with him, and shared one of his famous stories. But because of our hope in Jesus Christ, I look forward to the day when, if we remain faithful to Him, I will be able to make that introduction myself. What a beautiful reunion that will be.
Uncle Sherwin, thank you for your laughter, your stories, your kindness, and for inspiring a little girl in ways you probably never realized. You will always have a very special place in my heart, and I will never forget you.
My heart is also with my dear Auntie Marceline and my cousin Krishana ("Krissy"). I love you both so much and continue to keep you in my prayers during this difficult time. May God surround you with His comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain..." — Revelation 21:4
- Reunette Johnson
I first came in contact with Sherwin at my Cousin Shirley Soogree’s residence. Immediately we became friends. He was such an approachable and comical gentleman.
Sherwin can sit with you and talk for hours. Don’t even try to out speak him, you would lose. He was always helpful and would drop by and take us to church wherever he went. Most of the time we ended up in Shiloh SDA Church.
Whenever we visited Canada our stay would be incomplete if we did not spend an evening with him and Marcelline. He practiced sound Christian values and always shared his knowledge with us. At our gathering he was conversant with any and every topic that surfaced. He will surely be missed when we come to Canada, it would not be the same again. To Marcelline, Krishana, and William our condolences, and love go out to you. We believe in the blessed hope and we know that we would be reunited with Sherwin in the first resurrection. Sherwin has gone to sleep in Jesus, he has gone but will never be forgotten.
From Michael, Asha and Rachel
I met Uncle Sherwin when I married his nephew, Reuel Johnson. He supported us and came to our wedding in NY. I remember his creative ways of telling his "life stories", which captivated my attention until I sometimes got a little tired and nodded off to sleep, but when I awoke, he was still there faithfully telling his "stories of life" to those who were still awake. Lol! What I liked about his stories is that they brought out his character of patience, loyalty, and faithfulness to God. His faith in God during the experiences he shared were encouraging and uplifting. Matter of fact, it always tickled me when he laughed hard at his own jokes while telling his "stories of life". I will miss him and his "life stories". - Lornette Johnson
It was back in 2002. My friend & I were visiting Scarborough, and as the Sabbath was approaching, I searched online for a nearby church. That search led me right to the church Brother Sherwin and his family attended .
It was a lovely, vibrant church, full of energy and uplifting songs . During the service, his family was sitting just a few pews behind me.
After the service, as I was shaking hands and getting ready to leave, Brother Sherwin, along with his wife and daughter, warmly greeted me. They asked where I was from, and I told them I was visiting from the United States. Without hesitation, they invited me to their home for a meal.
Afterward, they took me to the Scarborough lakefront to watch the sunset. Brother Sherwin even pointed out the maritime boundary directions toward the Philippines, and I learned so much from him that day.
He was truly a good man and a faithful Christian. friendly, decent, and professional. He used to talk about Morse code and loved sharing Christian songs, which actually helped me learn new music for special services.
He was Positive. He was an Encourager. He loved sharing inspirational and Spiritual quotes.
Whenever he called, he had so many stories to share, and I loved listening. But during our very last call, the roles flipped, I did most of the talking, and he was the one listening. He sounded so healthy and full of life. So a few weeks later, when his daughter Krishana sent me the message that he had passed away, I was in complete shock.
Brother Sherwin, you will surely be missed.
But I hold onto the hope of that great reunion day when Jesus returns, a day when there will be no more death, sorrow, or pain, and God will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Revelation 21:4
Rest In Peace Brother, Till then.
Your Sister In Christ,
Ging Duncan from U.S.A
My name is Reuel, one of his nephews. It was always a joy to be in his presence or just to talk to him on the phone. One of the many fond memories I have of my uncle involved being a voice of reason to my father when I wanted to go my first primary school meet at the stadium in Barbados. The school bus was waiting for me..My father didn't want me to go. Sherwin talked with him and I was allowed to go. He also gave me money in addition to what my father gave to me. My uncle generally tried to look at life from a commonsense approach. I learned so much from many of his life experiences that he shared with me. He loved people. I will miss his amazing, yet unique personality. - Reuel Johnson
My name is Shirley Hewitt. I met Sherwin and the family about 25 years ago at Shiloh. He drove me home from church almost every Sabbath. Sometimes we would have lunch at my house and his house as well. He would sit in his favourite chair and tell us all kinds of stories. He was a blessed soul, always telling jokes and make you feel welcome. I miss him so much, it's very hard to explain. Bro. J. May you Rest In Peace. God Bless. - Shirley Hewitt
I am Rachel, fiancée to Sherwin's nephew, Mark. I met Uncle Sherwin at his daughter Krissy’s house in Pickering. It was the first time meeting Krissy and her mom, Marceline. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. I would say my favourite memories are when Uncle Sherwin would talk about his childhood memories, playing with his siblings and getting into trouble with them. Another memory that I have, which was embarrassing and funny too, was when I first met Uncle Sherwin. I was already nervous meeting some of Mark’s family members. Uncle Sherwin embraced me with a big hug, and somehow I got my lipstick on his collar of his shirt. I noticed and apologized right away.
I feel like there are more than 3 positive words that I could think of, when talking about uncle Sherwin, but I would say. Calm - I feel like Uncle Sherwin brought a sense of Calm whenever he was in your presence. Witty - Whenever I was around, he was always telling something humorous to the family. Loving - You just had a strong sense that Uncle Sherwin was a real family man. A man who loved his family, beyond measure. - Rachel Cannavan
Sherwin was Reliable, Trustworthy, and Selfless. We attended school together. - Glenville Morris
2 Timothy 2:24 - "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men; apt to teach, patient."
This text exemplifies Mr. Johnson, who as a meekly-stately gentle-man openly and willingly shared God's Grace every time he spoke to persons especially strangers, showing that everybody matters. He happily engaged in conversations with persons as if he was entertaining angels to the ever-day individual on the street. He lived Jesus' example of meeting people where they are.
He was a Revealer of Life's stories to encourage your heart don't give up on God no matter the struggles of life you encounter.
He was a genuine Friendly happy soul willing to lend a helping hand. Proverbs 18:24 - "A man that hath friends must show himself friendly and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
I am blessed to have known Mr. Johnson and his family and I truly appreciate their open arms in sharing their home and friendship with me.
Sincere condolences to his entire family circle and may the mercies of God comfort you all.

A Tribute to Uncle Sherwin: From the William Family (St. Lucia)
Our hearts are saddened by your passing, but they are also filled with gratitude for the privilege of having known and loved you.
We will always remember you for your calmness, your willingness to help, your intelligence, your wit, your kindness and gentle spirit.
We will never forget the sound of your strong, powerful voice as you sang along with what seemed to be your favorite vocal group, the Gaithers. Your hearty laughter was infectious, and your endless jokes and stories, told in your unmistakable raw Bajan accent, brought joy to every gathering.
One image of you will remain forever etched in our memories: sitting peacefully with your hands clasped between your knees, gently rocking your legs and feet in steady rhythm, your eyes closed in quiet contentment. It was uniquely you and it is a memory we will always treasure.
Just a few days before your passing, you were asked over the telephone how you were doing. With confidence and reassurance, your response was, "I'm doing great!" Today, we smile through the tears because we know those words are truer now than ever before.
We know for sure that you're doing great —resting in the presence of the Lord, singing with the heavenly choir, and rejoicing with the angels.
Soar high, Uncle Sherwin! You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Uncle Sherwin! Oh how you will be missed! Your stories, your laugh, your caring nature. My earliest memory was of 7 year old me, running off and getting lost in a neighborhood in Canada. I remember the look on his face when he found me. The relief on my end when I in turn, saw his face! Its been such a joy to be around you these last few years. Forever in my heart. - Shadai Duplessis Raggie
My deepest condolences to the Johnson family.
Only God sees and knows the pain, but only God can give the comfort you need in this moment and time.
I met Bro. Johnson at the Shiloh SDA Church in Scarborough.
My memories of him include the jokes and fun he gave when we were together in a Social, and anywhere we were sitting together. He always had a joke to tell, but behind those stories, he always had a Bible verse or Scripture to back it up.
A very special and spiritual person to be around, so may his soul rest in eternal peace until we meet again. - Florence Questelles
Bro. Johnson (Sherwin) was always a talker and pleasant man. He was a no-nonsense brother in the faith that always had a smile. He liked educating people in his hobby of walkie-talkie radio communication around the globe and other things he was doing. A very helpful and friendly brother. Sad to know he's gone, but look forward to meeting him in our heavenly home very soon. - Everold Bharath
Sherwin Johnson was much more than a church member at the Mile and a Quarter Seventh-day Adventist Church—he was a mentor and role model to many of us who were little boys growing up in the church, including his nephews, Donn and Ruel. Though he was a very tall man, he was never intimidating. Instead, he always came down to our level, encouraging us, believing in us, and making us feel that we mattered.
One Sabbath evening, just before MV (now AY) was about to begin, I timidly asked if I could accompany him on the platform to help. I expected him to say no because I was only a child, but without hesitation he said yes. Looking back, I often wonder if that simple act of kindness helped shape my lifelong involvement in the church.
I also remember that the very first wrist watch I ever wore was Sherwin's—a green-faced watch that he treasured. One Sabbath I asked if I could wear it, and he simply took it off his wrist and placed it on mine. That small gesture spoke volumes about the generous and trusting person he was.
I will never forget the farewell service when Sherwin and his family migrated to Canada. As the congregation sang "Blest Be the Tie That Binds," especially the words, "When we asunder part, it gives inward pain". It was a sad day to see him go and his family leave. We missed him then, and we miss him still.
Sherwin's quiet influence lives on in the lives he touched. His kindness, encouragement, and gentle spirit will always be remembered. Rest peacefully, dear friend, until we meet again at Jesus' feet. - Lynbrok Cumberbatch
I met Brother Sherwin at Shiloh SDA Church. He is one of the kindest, caring, and understanding person I have known. He was always willing to help.
Three words to describe him: Kind, Dedicated and Understanding
He will be missed, but his memory lives on in our hearts. - Pauline Thompson
Sherwin was la classmate buddy and close friend of mine at SDA school in Barbados. He restrained me from fighting with another classmate. He loved sports. He joined the elite that struck the cricket ball so hard that it rang the church bell on opposite side of the road. He rendered outstanding service to SDA school and church.
Three words to describe him: Affable, professional, Christian.
Condolences to his family. Meet you in heaven my friend.
- Dr. Cecil Cummins (Barbados)
Three words to describe Sherwin: Compassionate, committed and a conversationalist!
Many years ago, my late husband, Wesley, and I had the privilege of meeting Sherwin and Marcelline at the home of his sister, ( from a different mother), Shirley Soogree. Meeting them felt like a breath of fresh air. Sherwin was a man who truly did not know a stranger; he welcomed everyone with an open heart. Interestingly, my husband was exactly the same. During that very first meeting, I remember watching them and thinking to myself, "Let's see who will outdo the other with their quick wit and non-stop talking!" Honestly, it was impossible to decide on a winner. Every single conversation with Sherwin was accompanied by a real-life story, beautifully told to keep us both grounded and entertained. Yet, beneath the laughter and the stories, his deep faith in God shone brightly through everything he did. Just a week before his sudden passing, I was visiting Toronto. Despite not feeling well, Sherwin and Marcelline made the effort to come and visit me at Shirley’s. This final act was a beautiful testament to his enduring love for God, his family, and his friends. He wanted to see firsthand how I was coping with my own loss, asking what we needed or where we needed to go. Sherwin's immense compassion and genuine love made an indelible impression on our hearts many years ago—memories that I will carry with me always. He was a man who was always willing to assist, ease a burden, lend a helping hand, offer wise advice, and generously share his resources, time, and talent with everyone placed in his path. He is deeply missed, but his legacy of love and faith lives on. - Carol Nyack
Three words to describe Sherwin:
Storyteller
Caring
Helpful
I am Charles Leader. I met Sherwin some 29 years ago at a gas station at Ellesmete and Morningside. It was a providential meeting. We did not know each other but we exchanged pleasantries. I later became his pastor, some two years after that chanced meeting. He was the First Elder at the Shiloh Adventist Church.
I have tons of memories of Sherwin. My most memorable would be that of him kneeling with my family in prayer on June 8, 2003, the last official Sabbath at Shiloh.
Pastor Charles Leader
I had the honour of meeting Brother Sherwin and family when my husband, Pastor Charles Leader, became pastor of the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1999. Over the years, I felt drawn to this family, the result being that we have kept in touch over the years. Bro. Sherwin was quite the conversant individual, and his home quite welcoming. Visits, gatherings, and other things have occurred over the years. Most recently, when our three grandchildren were visiting from Georgia, as has been my habit, I took them over on July 17, only to find him alone at home. The young ones were happy to see Bro. Sherwin, and, of course enjoyed the treats. A beautiful visit. Once I got home, I asked my husband to check in with Bro. Sherwin as his wife was away.
The news of our brother's passing reached me on the night of our 45th anniversary! It was then I realized why I was moved to make the request of my husband.
To Sis. Marceline, Krishana, and other family members, may you find comfort in God's ability to console and even heal your grief. 2 Cor. 1: 3, 4 NKJV assures us: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." Accept this promised comfort, for you have work to do with others who need comforting. Lean on this God you serve. He is with you now and will be throughout your journey of grief. Believe this!!!
Dr. Ermine Leader
I met Sherwin through William. He was kind, generous and pleasant to be around. His commitment to God was never in doubt as was demonstrated by the love shown to me, Krishana, and Marcelline. To Sherwin's family, please know that my family share in your grief, and we pray that God's love will surround and sustain you in the days ahead. We will remember his smile. - George Edwards
Three Words to describe Sherwin Johnson: Intuitive, intelligent, and irreplaceable.
I don't remember exactly when I met Uncle Sherwin. I just remember being very comfortable around him and enjoyed his sense of humor. His nuanced way of telling amazing stories and warm he was. I look forwarded to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at the Johnsons.
He was forever fixing something either at our home or around his house or at church and he was just really great with his hands. What I really enjoyed was when he would tell jokes with a straight face. We would be rolling over with laughter. They are too many memories to account for. I miss here immensely, my family misses him, this planet will not be the same.
Krissy and Auntie Marce, my deepest condolences. Words cannot express how l feel and often we don't have the words. I am so sorry. Just know even though we live far apart I will always try to make myself available.
The thing that keeps me going is knowing that one day will be able to laugh on the Sea of glass and and the sting of death will not touch us again. Till eternity, rest well, Uncle Sherwin.
Colette Leader-Kalumbi
I met Sherwin during my very first steps as an Adventist. It was a time of great difficulty for me and by God's design Sherwin happened to be my Sabbath school teacher. One of his early lesson on faithfulness to the Lord fully opened my heart to being an Adventist and I committed myself that very day. Sherwin truly earned my respect and friendship that day. I am forever grateful to Sherwin and his family. Rest in peace. - Valrie Whyte
Three words to describe Sherwin Johnson: Mentor, example, hilarious
Mr. J (Sherwin) is a close friend/brother to my mother and neighbour. When I learned of his passing my was (and remains) heavy.I heard about your Dad and have such a heavy. Like so many others, he was so kind to me and the family. He would mentor me on being a family man and home maintenance. He helped me with so much work around my home but always refused any kind of payment. I am so sorry for your families loss. He loomed so large in both stature and personality. He will be sorely missed. - Keith Whyte
Three words to describe Sherwin Johnson: Pleasant, kind, and humorous
I met Mr Johnson through my beautiful Sister in law, Krishana. We spent a few thanksgiving’s together. He was very pleasant to be around. His legacy lives on and I’m so glad for the time our family was able to engage with him. - Michelle Washington
Three words to describe Sherwin Johnson: Funny, Kind, loving and patient
My family lived in the building next to Sherwin and his family. His wife, Marcellin is from St Lucia, like my mom. So the Johnsons became like family to us. Fast forward 30 years later when I moved to Whitby with my husband and 2 year old daughter: we needed someone we could trust to do some electrical work at our home. Sherwin was generous enough with his time to come and help. He spent hours showing my husband what to do. He was a patient teacher. My daughter referred to him as “papa Sherwin” because he treated her like his own grand daughter. To say that this man was kind doesn’t do justice. We loved him and are so grateful for him. Knowing him was a gift. He was funny and his patience exceeded most people’s top patience levels. We miss him and the world lost a true angel. - Denise Rumsey
I know Mr. Johnson through his absolutely amazing daughter Krishana. She is my dearest friend and one of the kindest and most beautiful souls of my acquaintance. In my profession as an educator, we often see how “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”! And during my brief acquaintance with Mr. Johnson, I knew immediately from where Krishana got her intrinsic kindness. His kind legacy lives on through his daughter. RIP Mr. Johnson! - Renu Bose
We were blessed to meet Sherwin when we needed the assistance of an electrician. For a week, we spent many hours working and traveling together to Hamilton.
Sherwin was retired at the time, but he clearly was still a Master. His work was impeccable, but the true gift for us was the comradery we shared. He was a great storyteller with many life lessons. Those are moments we will cherish forever.
Sherwin always spoke about his love and appreciation for his family. Although we’ll miss him dearly, we feel comforted knowing he’s reunited with his son. God bless and much love. - Ray & Alisha Ganesh ❤️
I met Sherwin when I was living in Barbados. He worked at the same place as my mother Brenda Cox. I went to his wedding to Marcelline when I was 13 years old. He was a very nice man and I always enjoyed talking to him when Marcelline would call to speak with my mother.
I’m happy to say that it was a privilege to know Sherwin Johnson. Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Sherwin.
May his soul rest in peace and rise one day in glory. - Ingrid Skinner
Three Words to Describe Sherwin: Brave, inclusive and passionate
My name is Charles and my family and I met Sherwin back in 2004. We were new immigrants to Canada at the time and he opened his doors for lunch on Sabbaths. When sitting with Elder Sherwin, one would soon discover a few things:
1. Sherwin was a walking history of the development of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the Scarborough area.
2. He was an excellent story teller. There were no brief visits to Sherwin's house because once he got talking, you needed time to hear the whole story, filled with passion, description and hearty laugher.
3. He lived life: Cheated death on so many occasions and gave 100% to whatever task or challenge he committed himself to.
4. He was fearless. In a church culture which says agree in spite of one's own position, Sherwin refused to be a "yes" man. This sometimes made people uncomfortable and labelled him. But he ever placed principle before personalities. Choosing justice and the right before popularity and being "liked."
5. Sherwin embraced equality: He was driven by character and not influenced by nationality. He was a relentless advocate for pastors originating from the southern Caribbean. He refused to subject himself to the disposition of the dominant national culture of the SDA church in Toronto, choosing rather to make each decision on its merit and not by who was saying it.
6. He was supportive: I remember when the Male coral would sing, being new to Toronto, in August of 2004 the group visited Woodstock SDA church, for the annual recital. He asked me to preach that day. And later when I was installed at a church in Hamilton ON, the male coral sang the song, "Shine on us."
Elder Sherwin has finished his journey. May those of us left behind, choose faithfulness over man's favour. Grace over judgment and love and life over quitting.
To the family:
We say thank you for all that you have given us. May the God of peace comfort you now in your moments of grief. May we all look forward to the blessed hope--Jesus will come again and make all things new.
- Charles Skeete and Family
Three Words to Describe Sherwin: Kind, Humble, Selfless
My name is Mohammed Chowdhary, and I had the privilege of being Sherwin's neighbour. He was an incredible neighbour, a wonderful friend, and an even better human being. He set the bar so high for the rest of us with his kindness, humility, and genuine care for others.
Sherwin was one of the most down-to-earth people anyone could ever meet. He always took the time to stop, say hello, and have a conversation, no matter how busy he was. His warmth and friendliness made everyone around him feel welcome and valued.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Sherwin will be greatly missed, but his kindness, generosity, and the positive impact he had on those around him will never be forgotten. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
May he rest in eternal peace.
— Mohammed Chowdhary

My name is Rhylee from the Samson family and I met Sherwin Johnson from my family. One memory that I would like to share is him giving us gifts everytime we vist him. - Rhylee
I know Sherwin through my Aunty Shirley and he, Marcelline, and Krissy were integral parts of my experience when I was living in Toronto. I remember that he was hospitable, kind, and had the best stories and smile. He was also a proud son of the Bajan soil! His energy and presence filled every room and I will hold very fond memories of him. On behalf of me and the Rampersad Family in Trinidad, please accept our most sincerest condolences on this tremendous loss! - Rachel Rampersad
We recently said goodbye to an extraordinary teacher, mentor, and a true son of the soil. Mr. Sherwin Johnson sometimes made me feel like I was his own son. He was truly a remarkable human being.
Mr. Johnson was a kind, compassionate, and caring man whose warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of so many. He was more than a teacher — he was a mentor, a guide, and an inspiration to those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His impact will live on in the hearts and lives of the many people he taught and encouraged.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the memories, the lessons, the kindness, and the love he shared with us.
May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may he rise to meet God in glory. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
William James
